Sam Stambaugh is a photographer living in Richmond, Virginia with ten years of experience working with film and digital. Originally from Massachusetts, he received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Photography from the New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2015. After living in Asheville, North Carolina, he began an interest in documenting the landscape around him, in an effort to show human made and environmental changes.
Photographing artists in their studios, restaurant menu items and staff, and creating promotional material for musicians, as well as photographing them performing, have always been among his favorite ways of working.
His various hobbies –collecting and listening to records, knitting, and reading– have helped to develop and hone a keen attention to detail and order. Sam also enjoys riding his bike, showing his art in local galleries, and being a part of a local film photography group.
